Stepping
Out With Eddie
© 1998 by Jeffrey Rodman |
Hey, here's Eddie, he's come to town (come to town, hey here's Eddie)
In his Chevy, he's driven down
It's six o'clock he wants his food (dinnertime dinnertime, sure sounds good)
So I take him to a restaurant, it's already ten to eight
he says "that's squid, not 'calamari', I use that stuff for bait!"
Chorus:
Stepping out...
Stepping out with Eddie, stepping out with Eddie, whoa
big city, so, ain't worth the fight,
waste of girlies, waste of lights, whoa
So we walk out to a disco, he says "hey, what's the deal?"
Says, "that's not music, that's machine tools, that's punching holes in
steel!"
Chorus
Hey, here's Eddie, it's morning time (morning time, good morning Eddie)
In his Pendleton, he's ready to ride (Pendleton, Pendleton, nice shirt
Eddie)
I ask him how some coffee sounds (man ain't nothing without some Joe)
So we walk out to a shoppe, he says "What's this, a joke?
Three bucks a cup, with suds on top, you guys are getting soaked!"
Stepping out...
Stepping out with Eddie, stepping out with Eddie, whoa
big city, so, he ain't impressed,
time to leave, get some rest, whoa. |
